Have you had COVID-19 and have had chronic problems for more than 4 weeks?

Whether the disease was severe or mild, or if you were hospitalized, or you overcame the disease at home, you might have the late consequences of COVID-19. If you have been hospitalized, the problems may be related to post-EIT (intensive care unit) syndrome, maybe due to the therapy received or you may have complications due to hospitalization.

If you have been having these problems for more than 12 weeks after acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, you might have developed Post-COVID Syndrome.

Post-COVID symptoms:

  • reduced physical capacity
  • fatigue
  • memory and concentration disorders
  • hair loss
  • insomnia
  • paresthesias
  • cognitive intrusion
  • joint and chest pain
  • cough
  • olfactory disorders
  • mucosal dryness syndrome
  • palpitations
  • conjunctivitis
  • taste disorders
  • headache
  • sputum production
  • lack of appetite
  • sore throat
  • dizziness
  • sore muscles
  • diarrhiea
  • constipation

The above symptoms (at least 2) affect just under half of the COVID-19 patients. The onset of these problems may be due to organ damage in the acute phase of the disease, due to the persistence of the body's hyperimmune response to infection, the virus may have become latent or our immune response may not be strong enough to completely heal.

Covid-19 is thus no longer just a short-term, acute infectious disease, as the consequences can last for months. The virus affects many organs, that is why our approach to treatment is multidisciplinary.

In Terme Dobrna you will receive multidisciplinary treatment; our team consists of an infectologist, physiatrist, neurologist, psychiatrist, pulmonologist, radiologist, acupuncturist, speech therapist, dietitian, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, masseur, pedicurist, DMS, SMS, and paramedic.

What doesf rehabilitation of post-covid patients include?

Initial examination by a specialist, who identifies 3 to 5 main symptoms that the patient shows and that have affected him the most in returning to normal life. This is followed by the development of a rehabilitation program that is strictly individualized and includes the principles of integrative medicine. The basic treatment program is prepared for 7 days, but we recommend a longer rehabilitation if the disease is more severe.

We also advise a preliminary examination in the infectology clinic, where they agree on the most appropriate form and duration of rehabilitation. Bring as much medical documentation with you as possible that explains the current clinical picture. Also, bring a list of all the medications you are receiving.

Electronic counseling is possible on the basis of medical documentation and your written wishes.

What types of POST-COVID rehabilitation programs do we offer?

  • a program for patients suffering from muscle weakness and fatigue,
  • a program for patients suffering from fatigue and psycho-cognitive deficits,
  • program for patients suffering from a combination of the above POST-COVID symptoms.

How will the treatment program be planned?

The treatment program will consist of a combination of the following services suitable for you:
